An incident in Race No.218 of Mumbai “An enquiry has been initiated into running and riding of MUBARRAS & ELEMENTO TRANCE and a report will be submitted shortly. Trainer Nana Raghunath and Apprentice Kishore Kadam were questioned regarding the running and riding of ELEMENTO TRANCE.Tr.Nana Raghunath stated that he had instructed Apprentice Kishore Kadam to settle the horse in 5th/6th position, be at the horse all the time and to do his best in the straight. He added that he had also told the Apprentice that the horse has a habit of shifting out in the straight, as such to keep the whip in the left hand. App.Kishore Kadam confirmed the instructions and added that he had ridden to his instructions and did his best. The video recording of the race was viewed and it was pointed out to App.Kishore Kadam that entering the home straight when he made his move from the outside, every time he used the whip with the left hand, his right hand stopped moving. App.Kishore Kadam admitted to the above and said that he has got a whip very recently and he was not too comfortable using the whip. He assured the Stipendiary Stewards that he would practice the use of the whip on a Horse Simulator. Trainer Nana Raghunath when asked for his observation of the Jockey’s riding replied that the Jockey had followed the instructions and his horse had run true to form and the winner POLAR GLOW would have won more easily had he not been pocketed in the straight.
